What Does Being Nature Informed Mean?

Nature Informed Therapy was developed by Dr. Heidi Schreiber-Pan, Ph.D., LCPC, NCC, ACS. Dr. Heidi is a brilliant psychotherapist, author, clinical director, and speaker. She is the Clinical Director of the Chesapeake Mental Health Collaborative and Author of "Taming the Anxious Mind" and "Nature's Healing Power Unveiled: New Anthropology Explores the Transformative Effects of the Natural World on Psychological Well-being."

I had the wonderful opportunity of completing an intensive training with Heidi. Initially, I was hesitant and anxious about what the training would entail. However, I fell in love with Heidi's mission, and it was one of the most transformative and impactful trainings in my life. Heidi is an absolutely wonderful human being.

Nature Informed Therapy is not about forcing you into the stone ages or bashing you for the use of air conditioning, but rather examining your disconnect with nature and the impact this has had on your mental health. We then seek to find your thread and in essence your connection and way back to nature to provide relief for symptoms of mental illness. Things to expect with Nature Informed Coaching is to learn mindfulness practices, gratitude, and connection.
